Set of 50 pebbles are specially cast from a unique stone and resin mix. Each stone is engraved and hand-painted with a letter. The tactile stones will appeal to children’s instincts to explore, investigate, sort and collect, and are durable enough to be used in sand, water and outdoors. Each pebble measures approximately 1–1.5’’ and are engraved with lowercase letters.

Age 2+

To clean pebbles use soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Use standard classroom bleach solution. Word-buildling Pebbles can be used indoors and out. Do not leave outdoors in freezing temperatures. Store indoors.

  • Introduce the pebbles on a table with several placemats, pieces of felt, or laminted paper sheets. Invite free play with the pebbles.
  • Offer them with word cards or on trays with picture cards to encourage children’s inventive spelling.
  • Use the pebbles as examples for letter writing practice.
  • Offer them in a basket or bin for transporting to the Block Play, Loose Parts, Dramatic Play or Story Making centers of your classroom.
  • Use them outdoors in a mud kitchen to make Alphabet Soup using natural materials & mud.
  • Place several in a sensory table or sensry bin to be used like hidden treasures or add them to your classroom treasure basket.
