Introduce children to the exciting world of STEM in their early development years with our collection of hands-on learning toys. These learning materials are carefully developed to engage young and curious minds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Whether used in the classroom for interactive activities or at home for your child's personal development, these STEM tools enable children to develop basic skills that will help them both academically and beyond.

Why Are STEM Toys Important?

STEM education builds the foundation of a child’s future success in academics and life. When educators integrate core STEM concepts into daily learning, children adapt and learn crucial skills that help them solve problems, think critically, and develop reasonable explanations or solutions. These skills will help their careers in STEM fields and come in handy when tackling challenges in daily life.

Our STEM toys are designed to go beyond providing entertainment—they empower children to explore, experiment, and implement knowledge through a series of hands-on activities. Whether testing engineering principles, solving a shadow puzzle, or using building blocks to create structures, children engage in real-world problem-solving, improving their understanding of essential concepts.

Bringing STEM Toys to the Classroom

If you want to create an interactive learning environment in your classroom, these STEM tools will help. These hands-on tools encourage children to experiment with different ideas and concepts, which makes the learning process more tangible, easy to remember, and fun. When educators engage children with these tools, students understand complex concepts more easily and pick up essential problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.

When teachers bring STEM toys into their classrooms, they are actively creating an atmosphere of discovery and catering to the curiosity of young minds. These learning materials allow children to work together as a team and learn from each other as they solve problems and complete projects.

STEM Toys You’ll Love

Korxx Building Blocks are perfect for construction play in the classroom. Each side of these blocks is cut at a specific angle, and the surface has just the right amount of friction needed to hold the structures in place. The blocks are lightweight and safe for children so they won’t get hurt during playtime, even if they make tall skyscrapers. They are portable and suitable for outdoor, indoor, and even underwater use— the learning possibilities are endless!

The Big Shadows Pizzle Set is another essential STEM tool that introduces children to shadows and constructions. The idea is simple: children are tasked with building different structures using shadow outlines as their guide. This fun activity stimulates critical thinking and creativity, as children must think and analyze how to match shapes and angles.

The Flight Lab is a remarkable teaching aid that covers the principles of flight and air movement. This wind tunnel setup is ideal for letting the kids witness first-hand how air projection and wind work, giving them a hands-on understanding of physics concepts. Children can use various objects and observe how they are affected by air and how they fly. The structure is made from Baltic Birch plywood, which is durable and aesthetically pleasing and sized appropriately for toddler/preschool as well as school-age children to use alone or in groups.

The Hill and Valley Wall Track encourages children to explore speed, gravity, and motion and witness how these three forces interplay and affect how different objects act. The learning material is set at eye level, which allows kids to track and watch balls or other objects as they glide down slips.

Enhance Learning with Kodo Kids

Jaci I.

Director of Early Childhood Education @ Congregation Beth Elohim

We have set up a sensory room with many of Kodo’s materials–light table, magnet wall, wind tunnel–and it’s a favorite space for all of our classes to visit. Parents and professional visitors are quite impressed with the uniqueness and open-ended aspect of the materials.

I met with the founder many years ago at a NAEYC conference when he was just starting and had just a few products and was immediately impressed with his understanding of how young children learn. It has been a pleasure to watch the company grow while maintaining the integrity of your knowledge of how young children learn best through active participation and exploration of their environment.

Cathy H.

Teacher @ Tennie Russell Primary School

Our little learners are finding new ways to explore through light, movement, engineering and more. Adding the wind tunnel to our lab has been a game changer in terms of excitement level and inquiry. Students eagerly explore how things blow when the tunnel is adjusted to varying angles, and they discover the differences in materials and how well they move through and out of the tunnel. We expanded our engineering/building area by increasing choices with the Swiss Ramp Stands and the Discovery Ramps set. In doing that, we sparked a higher interest in force and motion, including problem-solving on how to stop said motion. These are just some of the items we purchased from Kodo Kids with our grant, and we look forward to seeing our young minds at work as we continue to expand our STEAM lab.

Nature Preschool Teacher @ Oak Ridge Elementary

The Outdoor Ramps have been a fantastic addition to support outdoor learning at Oak Ridge Elementary. Students in preschool through 1st grade have been able to use the ramps in multiple environments, including indoors, on our playground, in our forest outdoor classroom, and in our prairie outdoor classroom. In addition, all students, regardless of their abilities, have been able to participate in ramp play. Students who are wheelchair-bound are able to participate in ramp play with their classmates due to having longer length sections that reach the child’s chair height.
