Defining a space for construction experiences supports children to build within the allotted space. This often results in increased opportunities for them to build vertical and complex structures. We designed the Construction Platforms to be compatible with traditional unit blocks. The height of the main platform is the height of a vertical unit block and the trundle platform is the same height of a horizontal unit block. Once children discover this they’ll be creating multilevel structures and very likely using all the unit blocks they can find! This Kodo exclusive was designed to support overall creativity and engineering play behaviors.
Educators love the versatility of being able to position the trundle platform anywhere in the room. Use it to establish a secondary block play space, a platform for puzzle or game play, a small world platform or a stage for acting out stories.

Clean all wood products with a “green” cleaner and damp cloth. Wipe dry. The We suggest that you occasionally inspect the Construction Platform for imperfections caused by normal use over time. Light sanding may be required.
Caution: The lower Trundle Platform should be moved/positioned by adults only. If the lower Trundle Platform is placed on top of the Main Platform, do NOT allow children to climb, stand or sit on it.
Q. Do you suggest this for multiage classrooms?
Yes! The Construction Platform is appropriate for children ages 2 and up!
Q. We have a wood floor in our classroom. Will this slide around?
Our engineering & design team suggests that you place a rug under the platform to prevent slipping.
Your Construction Platform will ship flat and requires assembly. Place this unique piece in your block and construction space, community area, STEM room or after school commons. The lower Trundle Platform should be positioned by adults only. Use the lower Trundle Platform adjacent to the Main Platform or place it in an entirely different area to establish a temporary small group center.
