Add this spinning canvas to your art station and let the masterpieces take shape. Explore line, shape, color and motion while having fun. Create group literacy activities and exercise fine motor skills in a uniquely interactive way.

The Chalk Spinner is a must-have addition to your classroom that inspires creative thinking in kids. The Chalk Spinner was first created in our founders’ garage by educators who realized the need for a fun educational tool in the classroom. It’s not just a spinning blackboard for kids to draw; it’s an invitation for students to engage in open-ended play.

Why is the Chalk Spinner Collection Important?

Instead of playing with just a handful of toys in the classroom, the Chalk Spinner lets children draw shapes, colors, and motions on a blank canvas. Kids can use different colors of chalk to express their imagination and creativity on our spinner. Another fantastic benefit is that kids develop their fine motor skills as they draw on the spinner with chalk.

Teachers appreciate how this tool makes kids learn to draw freehand and have fun while learning. From art projects to science experiments, the Chalk Spinner fits smoothly into any subject and lesson you want.

Bringing the Chalk Spinner to the Classroom

Ask any preschool educator and they’ll tell you — keeping children engaged in activities and staying on task is the most challenging part of teaching. Like all of our products at Kodo Kids, the Chalk Spinner is designed to help teachers make traditional learning more exciting for kids and keep them engaged.

When you introduce the Chalk Spinner in a classroom full of young minds, it becomes a spot for creativity and teamwork. You will see curious kids gather around it, excited to contribute their own drawings to the spinning canvas. They start to think, plan, and create designs and drawings together as a team, which helps with cooperation among classmates.

Chalk Spinner Products You’ll Love

Our flagship product, the Chalk Spinner, takes your class to another level. The canvas spins, and kids use different chalk colors to draw lines, shapes, and scenery on it. With its easy-to-use design, kids can experiment with motion and create vibrant artwork simply by spinning it and drawing with chalk.

The Chalk Spinner Cover helps to keep your Chalk Spinner in the best condition. This protective cover shields the spinner from wear and tear, ensuring it lasts for years of joyful play. It also serves a dual purpose: when children create their art, the cover helps preserve their creations by protecting them from dust and damage.

And lastly, the Chalk Spinner is not complete without the colorful chalks! These come in bulk packs and allow kids to draw, erase, and repeat.

Director of Early Childhood Education @ Congregation Beth Elohim

We have set up a sensory room with many of Kodo’s materials–light table, magnet wall, wind tunnel–and it’s a favorite space for all of our classes to visit. Parents and professional visitors are quite impressed with the uniqueness and open-ended aspect of the materials.

I met with the founder many years ago at a NAEYC conference when he was just starting and had just a few products and was immediately impressed with his understanding of how young children learn. It has been a pleasure to watch the company grow while maintaining the integrity of your knowledge of how young children learn best through active participation and exploration of their environment.

Teacher @ Tennie Russell Primary School

Our little learners are finding new ways to explore through light, movement, engineering and more. Adding the wind tunnel to our lab has been a game changer in terms of excitement level and inquiry. Students eagerly explore how things blow when the tunnel is adjusted to varying angles, and they discover the differences in materials and how well they move through and out of the tunnel. We expanded our engineering/building area by increasing choices with the Swiss Ramp Stands and the Discovery Ramps set. In doing that, we sparked a higher interest in force and motion, including problem-solving on how to stop said motion. These are just some of the items we purchased from Kodo Kids with our grant, and we look forward to seeing our young minds at work as we continue to expand our STEAM lab.

Nature Preschool Teacher @ Oak Ridge Elementary

The Outdoor Ramps have been a fantastic addition to support outdoor learning at Oak Ridge Elementary. Students in preschool through 1st grade have been able to use the ramps in multiple environments, including indoors, on our playground, in our forest outdoor classroom, and in our prairie outdoor classroom. In addition, all students, regardless of their abilities, have been able to participate in ramp play. Students who are wheelchair-bound are able to participate in ramp play with their classmates due to having longer length sections that reach the child’s chair height.
