The Rubber Ramp Tower was designed to have two ramp sections placed side by side. This allows children to run speed or distance trials using balls of different sizes on each track. A specially designed clamp securely holds the ramps on the top of the tower. The tower has an open compartment to store balls and a front ball “balcony” so children can easily access them during play. The storage base is very special! It holds two 12-foot sections of Rubber Ramp when they’re not in use. And this fantastic piece doubles as an elevation accessory! Ramp sections can be placed over or through the upright notches. It can also rest on its side so the rubber ramp or one of your Kodo Discovery Ramps can be placed through the hole. The sturdy ramps from Kodo’s Ramps & Fulcrums set will also fit into the open holes on the tower and base. (Kodo’s Discovery Ramps and Ramps & Fulcrums Set are sold separately.)

Clean all wood products with a “green” cleaner and damp cloth. Wipe dry. The Rubber Ramp can also be wiped clean with a damp cloth or submerged in a bucket of soapy water, washed and then hung to dry. Do not coil the rubber ramp or place it in the wooden storage tray until it’s completely dry. We suggest that you occasionally inspect the Tower and Storage Tray for imperfections caused by normal use over time. Light sanding may be required.
Q. I already have a Rubber Ramp in my classroom. Can I buy just the Tower with the base?
Yes! The Rubber Ramp Tower Deluxe includes the Balls and ramps. The Rubber Ramp Tower is also sold by itself and does not include the balls or ramps. Both products include the storage base.
Q. Is this product okay for 2 year-olds?
It is possible to use this with children as young as two. Caution! You’ll need to remove the small 1.5″ balls. Very young children will need an adult’s help to arrange the rubber ramp in the ramp clamp. We have heard from toddler room educators that uncoiling the rubber ramp and arranging it along the floor can inspire 2 year old’s to cooperate and communicate.
Q. What do you recommend for keeping the rubber ramp in place? My preschoolers love to make hills but sometimes they collapse unexpectedly.
Its really a matter of designing and engineering support structures. Try aluminum cans under the rubber ramp to hold hills in place. Other objects we use are: classroom unit or hollow blocks, chairs, bean bags or Kodo’s Sandbags and Kodo Tunnels. Invite children to test objects to see what works best for their course designs and record their findings – what a great mini investigation!
Your Rubber Ramp Tower Deluxe will ship flat and requires assembly.
Introduce the Rubber Ramp Tower Deluxe formally during a class meeting or with small groups. Children will need help initially to secure the rubber ramps in place in the white clamp on the top of the tower. They’ll also require instruction and practice coiling and returning the ramps to the storage base.
