This unique table can be used in multiple ways. Preschoolers love having it in the dramatic play space while toddlers use it to explore and discover sensory materials and more. The small pan and large bowl can be submerged in soapy water, rinsed and air-dried.
As with all wood products we recommend inspecting occasionally for wear due to normal use over time. Light sanding may be required.
For Toddlers & Twos: Intially place the table in a fairly open space, allowing children to freely explore the table, push it and eventually discover the hole in the table top. Offer baskets or bins full of materials that young children can fit into the hole in the center, such as balls, scarves, natural materials, loose parts and soft toys. Flip the table over to expose the large stainless steel bowl. Fill it with dry sensory materials or other objects. Toddlers and twos especially love to fill and empty the bowl.
For Young Preschoolers: Place the table in the dramatic play space along with dolls and other materials for housekeeping play. Use the table as a small construction space for one or two children near a shelf or storage space full of small intriguing parts. Fill the pan in the center of the table top center with a few parts and encourage children to add parts they collect from the learning space.
For all: Remove the large stainless steel bowl and place a ramp, bucket or shallow box under the hole. Offer a bin full of balls and the children will set about exploring!
