Built in America. Backed by Kodo.

Every Kodo Innovation begins as an idea in our Broomfield, Colorado workshop — and ends in the hands of a child discovering something new. Here's what stands behind that journey.

Made in America

Designed, prototyped, and manufactured in Colorado.

Kodo was founded on a simple frustration: a new dad couldn't find toys that upheld what children are actually capable of. So he made one himself — the Chalk Spinner — and a company grew from there.

Almost 20 years later, every Kodo Innovation is still designed and manufactured right here in the United States. Our designers, engineers, educators, and craftspeople all work under one roof at our Broomfield, Colorado headquarters. Ideas move from sketches to prototypes to safety testing to field observations in a local classroom — then onto our CNC machines, where most of our components are cut. From there, each piece is hand-finished, inspected, and packed by the same team that designed it.

That proximity matters. When a teacher tells us how a Light Table is being used in a way we didn't predict, the people who made it hear about it directly — and the next iteration gets better.

Why we stay made in America

  • Quality we can see and touch. Material selection, sanding, finishing, and final assembly all happen under our own roof, by people we know.
  • Safety we can verify. All Kodo products are tested for compliance with the CPSC's safety standard for toys sold in the United States.
  • A workforce we're proud of. We don’t just hire; we invest. Located in a Colorado Enterprise Zone, we leverage state incentives to provide continuous, high-quality technical training for our team.
  • Responsiveness educators deserve. When you call us, you reach the team that made what you bought.

A note on our broader catalog: alongside our own Kodo Innovations, we curate products from other top-quality manufacturers that complement our learning materials. Those are made in various countries, but are held to similar quality standards. Anything labeled a Kodo Innovation is designed and built in the USA.

Our Product Warranty

One year, manufacturer defects, no fuss.

What the warranty covers

  • Defects in materials or workmanship under normal classroom and home use
  • Issues that appear within one year of your delivery date

What it doesn't cover

  • Normal wear from years of enthusiastic play (a sign of a job well done)
  • Damage from outdoor exposure on products designed for indoor use — please don't leave the Chalk Spinner, Mobile Magnet Wall, or other indoor wooden products in the rain or direct sun
  • Damage from misuse or modifications

Beyond the warranty: part repair, for life

This is the part we're most proud of. Even after your one-year warranty ends, we'll help with part repair on any Kodo Innovation. A magnet pops loose three years in? A wheel needs replacing on a ramp set you've had since 2019? Reach out. We made it, we still make it, and we'll help you fix it.

Returns

Not sure a piece is the right fit for your environment? Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for any reason, provided the item is in new, unused condition. Shipping charges are non-refundable, and for non-defect returns, the customer covers return shipping. (Save the original box if you can — it usually works for the trip back.)
