Our Partnership with the Center of Gravity ECE | Kodo Kids

Kodo is honored to be partnering with a progressive new school, the Center of Gravity, in their mission to redefine early childhood education!

About Center of Gravity
The Center of Gravity is a unique lab school in Pleasant Hill, California, focused on bringing diversity, community, investigation based learning, and STEM concepts to young children. “Our premise is that all children are born researchers. We’re going to be using play as the highest form of research, and using technology strategically to help children engage in scientific research and design for 21st century learning,” Executive Director Michelle Grant Groves recently told the Martinez News Gazette.

The Center of Gravity will encourage and cultivate children’s natural curiosity and instinct to research by exploring the relationships between hands-on play, cooperation and negotiation, exploration, experimentation, and prototypes and design. Their core values include Diversity and Inclusion, Democracy and Civil Debate, and Projects and Presentation.

Kodo and The Center of Gravity
The Center of Gravity will be pushing the limits and testing new teaching methodologies, and is embarking on this journey with several amazing partner organizations. We are honored that Kodo is a company they have been adamant about working with, and we have made a donation to support their research and contributions to early childhood education. The Center of Gravity will be using our materials in complex combinations, and we are excited to see the outcomes of this fresh perspective of and experimentation with our products.

As this new program progresses we will share videos, stories, and photos with all of you. These authentic observations of children using our materials will help us better serve our customers and help all of us better serve children and our communities.
